Spring 2011--70's Fashion!

70's glamour is making another apperance this spring. 70s style is sexy. Accessorized with a bold nail polish or shimmer lipstick. Some styles to look for are High waist jeans, billowing blousey sleeves, printed jumpsuits, beaded vests(or any type of longer vest). Fabrics should be silky or have a metallic like sheen or threading. Low plunging necklines, big sunglasses and bags. Lots of neat jewelry, nothing to messey or overdone.

Glamour isnt just about being sexy, its about being sophisticated, elusive, well put together and confident.Whatever you wear, make sure its worn with confidence and believeablity. If you dont believe in yourself, noone else will

"Marc Jacobs and Elie Tahari are two of the many fashion designers that found their inspiration in the '70s fashion. At Marc Jacobs, the '70s dresses have amazing ink, sapphire, or emerald colors. If you had enough of the skinny domination, you should know that it will soon be over as spring 2011 brings the high-waisted flare jeans (Derek Lam), '70s style, back into the spotlight. “Maxi” is a key element when describing spring/summer 2011 dresses and jumpsuits."

Baby Got Back!

We live in a society plagued by images of thin and overthin and sickly thin women. We need to let reality shine through. This society isnt thin at all. Americans as a whole are over weight. Why do so many people think of bigger as horrible. Im not not talking morbidly obese, but thighs and hips never hurt anyone. Healthy is cool too. Check out these girls that are GORGEOUS and dont weight 82lbs like the girl on the cover of people magazine this week.

The Pea Coat

Today after talking with a friend on face book who was looking for a pea coat, and seeing how many females responded to her post, I realized the pea coat really is an essential part of any woman's winter wardrobe. I love a cute pea coat and so do many many other women. The pea coat first came into fashion several years ago and it appears to be here to stay. A coat is a must for the winter time, and since we are quickly approaching the cold weather season we must find something quick. Pea coats add sophistication to any outfit. After all, you don't want just any old coat. Another trend that is coming back this winter is the popular military look. Why not find a military style pea coat and kill two birds with one stone. There doesn't seem to be one specific definition of the pea coat, but it is double breasted and usually wool. We buy them long, short and medium length. Long or hip length pea coats seem to be the norm for the regular buyer, but the cropped pea coat is also very trendy and cute!

Calling all Women!

This is the first post on my new blog! I don’t know about you, but personally I am sick of seeing the female image down graded and hypocrosized every day. This blog is all about positive images and good vibes to get the average (or not so average!) woman inspired and empowered. Women must stand together and have each others backs in this crazy world. Lets do it together!
